First Solar has recently unveiled a new collaboration with Energix Renewables, marking an important milestone in their partnership. Under this agreement, First Solar will supply approximately 5 GWdc of their responsibly manufactured, ultra-low carbon thin-film solar modules to Energix’s projects in Israel, Poland, and the United States. The delivery of these modules is scheduled between 2026 and 2030. In addition, Energix has also engaged First Solar’s recycling services subsidiary to oversee the proper handling of decommissioned modules at the end of their lifecycle. This comprehensive collaboration showcases the commitment of both companies to sustainable and environmentally conscious practices.
In addition to its outstanding product quality, durability, reliability, and design, First Solar’s dedication to professional recycling services and strong commitment to social responsibility have played pivotal roles in reestablishing trust with Energix. These key factors have contributed to Energix’s decision to once again place its confidence in First Solar as a trusted partner.
According to the company, their solar modules are among the most environmentally friendly options currently available in the market, boasting one of the lowest carbon and water footprints. To mitigate risks associated with solar supply chains, they employ a unique thin-film semiconductor technology, an integrated manufacturing process, and a tightly controlled supply chain. These measures are aimed at reducing potential risks and ensuring the highest level of quality and sustainability throughout their operations.
As part of the collaboration, First Solar’s innovative high-value recycling program will handle the disposal of all end-of-life modules from Energix’s projects. This program ensures that semiconductor materials are recovered and reused in the production of new modules, creating a closed-loop system. Furthermore, as a member of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), First Solar upholds rigorous standards and is committed to safeguarding the rights and welfare of workers and communities.
